ABOUT DAVID CASEY

When David was a child, his church pastor spoke often about “going up to Heaven.” Given his avid sense of curiosity, 7-year-old David stumped the minister asking, “Exactly how high is up?” And he hasn’t stopped asking questions since. When he speaks to audiences of all sizes, his primary purpose is to instill an unbridled sense of curiosity in others, starting with evolving our definition, thinking and dialogue about diversity. His greatest source of pride is being told that he has helped others think about diversity in ways they never had before.

Having served as a national keynote, corporate and event speaker for more than 20 years, he always enjoys the opportunity to meet new people, learn about new organizations and communities and discuss diversity related topics that matter most in our professional and personal lives. Not a big fan of presentations, David prefers to have a dialogue with his audiences, no matter if it’s one hundred or one thousand people.

Whether he’s sharing personal challenges of growing up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood while attending an elite private school, conversing with a Kuwaiti family during Operation Desert Storm or guiding senior corporate executives through mergers and acquisitions, David infuses a sense of personal perspective, humor, humility, thought-provoking questions and practicality not bound by political correctness.

David has 18 years of experience building best practice Strategic Diversity Management functions for 2 Fortune 50 companies in the role of Chief Diversity Officer.

He is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, which means he is a diehard fan of the Indianapolis Colts. A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, David proudly served for eight years in the United States Marine Corps.
