Peter Navarro is an Associate Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the University of California, Irvine Graduate School of Management. He is the author of several books in addition to his most recent publication, The Coming China Wars. His investment book, If It's Raining in Brazil, Buy Starbucks, and his audio lecture course "Big Picture Investing: How, When, and Why the Stock Market Moves" are both bestsellers. Navarro's work has appeared in a wide range of leading publications, among them Business Week, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review and the Sloan Management Review. His other books include The Well-Timed Strategy; What the Best MBAs Know; When the Market Moves, Will You be Ready? and The Policy Game. In addition to being prominent in academic and business worlds, Dr. Navarro is also a name in political circles. He received endorsements from national politicians when he ran for Mayor of San Diego in 1992 and for Congress in San Diego's 49th District in 1996. A widely sought-after and gifted public speaker, Navarro addresses corporate audiences on subjects ranging from management strategy and stock market investing to the general health of the economy. He appears regularly on the KNX Business Hour and WBBM in Chicago. He is a frequent guest on major network and cable television shows and national radio, and his comments appear frequently in major publications. A graduate of Tufts University in 1972, Navarro served in the Peace Corps in Thailand from 1973 to 1976. He received an MA in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government in 1979 and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 1986. Navarro, who served as a lecturer at the University of California, San Diego from 1985-86 and as an assistant professor of economics at the University of San Diego from 1986-88, has been a business professor at the University of California, Irvine from 1988 to present. His current research focuses on the global strategic implications of China's remarkable economic ascendancy. |
