| James Mapes Connecticut |
|||
Immensely versatile, Dr. James Mapes is equally at home on the stage, behind a lectern,
or in front of a camera. Described by many as "futurist" he delivers
a message of possibilities, passion, love, humor and adventure, reflecting the
potential of the creative mind.
After graduation from California State University, Northridge, in 1969, with an MA in Theater, he spent two years in Repertory Theater. He has been seen in more than 150 television shows and feature films including Good Morning America, CNN and Fox Family Television and as an actor in Guiding Light, Search for Tomorrow, All My Children and One Life to Live. His film credits include: Sisters, Three Days of the Condor, Taxi Driver, Star Trek VI, Star Trek: First Contact and Do You Wanna Know a Secret? He has presented his one-man hypnosis show, "Journey into the Imagination" for 25 years. He was the first recipient of the prestigious Campus Entertainer of the Year Award and was the first hypnotist to perform in a large venue on Broadway. Mapes was the director of The New York Hypnosis Center for twelve years. He has worked with the New York police department assisting in memory recovery, with professional athletes for sports improvement, with clients who have phobias, and with terminally ill cancer patients for pain control. As an extension of his clinical practice, he developed "Positive Self-Image Training," "Choices" and "Magic of the Mind." These three programs teach a systematic approach to achieving personal and professional goals. He is a certified hypnotherapist and holds a Ph.D. in experimental psychology.
James Mapes will make you re-think the power of your imagination. These are
programs that people will talk about for weeks afterward and remember forever! The
audience leaves empowered with the message that they can identify and break through
their own self-imposed barriers and that the mind's potential for creativity is
limitless.
